MobiLUX requires no specialized equipment on the part of the manufacturer, customer, retail personnel, importers or law enforcement. A camera enabled cell phone is all that is required for immediate product verification. The MobiLUX technology works across all camera cell phones and carriers and requires no software downloads. The system is multi-tiered, secure and redundant, and uses some of the same principles that the U.S. Treasury applies to authenticate currency.
The beauty of the MobiLUX system lies in its simplicity and ease of use. Tamper-proof, coded, labels are affixed to the luxury good during manufacturing. Codes on these labels carry links to vital information such as a guarantee of original manufacture, the geographic location of the facility where the product was made, quality control, and important chain of custody tracking and authentication.
By using an ordinary cell phone with a camera and email or SMS text messaging capability, the consumer, retail personnel, importer or law enforcement agent can either take a photo of the special MobiLUX label and send it to the MobiLUX website, or simply text the numerical codes on the label to MobiLUX. Simple instructions for this process are clearly printed on the label itself.
The sender receives an immediate reply that provides information about the product's source and authentic or counterfeit status. In the event that a product or label is illegitimate or has been tampered with, MobiLUX warns the sender, or consumer. MobiLUX also determines the primary language of the country of request and responds in that language.
For marketing purposes, MobiLUX can respond with brand-promoting messages. This feature can be expanded upon to add value for both the brand and retailers.

In the production facility, the secure MobiLUX labels are applied to individual products or cases. When the product passes final inspection, a manufacturer's representative sends a text message with a label number and other information to mobiLUX@agm.tw. That number is then associated with the label that has been applied, which establishes the product's official verification status as well as the geographic location of the production facility, and any other required information.
Once the label number is received, MobiLUX stores the associated data on our secure servers. The product tracking data is then accessible anywhere cell phone signals are available, or via the internet.
